Rawat suffering from minor lung infection, doctors say he is doing fine
The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat who was admitted in the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital on Sunday evening following a complaint of fever was shifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi on Monday. He was flown to AIIMS Delhi at 10.45 am on the day. The CM is suffering from the infection of Covid-19.
The physician of the CM, Dr N S Bisht said that the health of CM is satisfactory. He said that his fever too is receding and that he is having a mild infection in lungs. The overall condition of CM in the GDMC hospital was satisfactory but the doctors of the hospital referred him to the AIIMS New Delhi for special advice, care and investigation by the doctors. One of the major concerns of the doctors was that the CM developed fever after ten days of getting infected with the disease which means that the viral load in his body has increased in the last few days. Rawat along with his wife and daughter was found to be positive with Covid-19 on December 18.
On Sunday the team of the doctors conducted various tests of the CM. His CT score was said to be five which is indicative of mild infection in lungs. The infection of the virus in the lungs is calculated on the basis of CT score which is of values one to 25 on increasing severity. It is pertinent to mention here that on December 19 the first CT of CM was conducted a day after he was found positive for Covid-19 and his lungs were found to be clear with no signs of infection.
The deputy medical superintendent of GDMC and state coordinator of Covid-19, Dr N S Khatri told The Pioneer that the blood oxygen saturation was 97 (normal) and his BP too was normal.
