The Uttarakhand Congress has severely condemned the incident in which the national spokesperson of the party Pawan Khera was arrested at Delhi airport on Thursday.
The vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Dhirendra Pratap said that the police action is highly deplorable and added that it is undemocratic and unconstitutional.
In a statement Pratap said, “The Prime Minister and his party leaders are given full liberty to criticize the Nehru and Gandhi family who have made great sacrifices for the freedom of the country and for saving the constitution of India but Pawan Khera is being targeted for a small statement. It is nothing but political vengeance and the BJP should take criticism in a healthy perspective,’’ he said. Pratap however added that the criticism should not cross the limits of political decency and moral values.
