The Uttarakhand Congress suffered another jolt on Monday when three of its leaders left the party and joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). These leaders joined the AAP in New Delhi in presence of the deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodiya. The State in-charge of AAP Dinesh Mohaniya and the State convener of the AAP, Jot Singh Bisht were also present on the occasion to welcome these leaders into the party.
Welcoming the leaders into the party’s fold, deputy CM of Delhi Sisodiya said that the party would get strengthened by the presence and experience. The in charge of Uttarakhand AAP, Mohaniya said that people of state have faith in the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal and the party would soon strengthen its organisation in the state. On Monday morning senior leader of Congress Raturi stated in a post in social media that he is pained by the intense factionalism in the party and the decisions being taken by the party. He said that he has given 45 years of his life to the Congress party. Raturi said that instead of learning lessons from the defeat faced in the recent elections and preparing for the future, the party leaders are engaging in a bitter internal war. He added that the party workers are getting discouraged by the state of affairs of the Congress party in Uttarakhand.
The former vice president of women Congress Raman said that she is feeling alienated in the party despite giving three decades to the Congress party so with a heavy heart she is leaving the party.
