U’khand Congress plans Hath se Hath Jodo campaign

The leadership of the Uttarakhand Congress held deliberations on Wednesday for the success of the proposed Hath Se Hath Jodo campaign in the State. The two month long campaign inspired by the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra of Rahul Gandhi would commence on January 26. A series of meetings were held in the State headquarters of Uttarakhand Congress on the day. The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara presided over the meetings which were held in the presence of central observer of the campaign Ajay Kumar Lallu and in charge of Uttarakhand Congress Devendra Yadav. 

 Speaking on the occasion, Yadav said that the campaign would unleash a new energy in the party. He elaborated on the objectives of the campaign and exhorted the party leaders and workers to make the two month long campaign a success. He said that the party would reach every household and spread awareness about the policies of the Congress party.

 Central observer Lallu said that the Bharat Jodo Yatra would end in Srinagar on January 30 and the Hath se Hath Jodo campaign is an extension of Bharat Jodo Yatra which has proved to be a major success. He said that the block Congress committees would be the units of the campaign  and foot marches would be held in different parts of the state. Lallu said that the campaign would be three tier and programmes at block, district and State level would be organised under it. The national president and former president would address the mega conclave of workers in the State level programmes. In the campaign women marches would be organised in every State capital under leadership of Priyanka Gandhi. 

The PCC president Mahara said that the campaign would revive and re-establish the Congress party.

The leader of opposition (LoP) Yashpal Arya, former PCC president Pritam Singh, Ganesh Godiyal and other leaders addressed the meetings.
