The new chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has fulfilled the long standing demand for a full time Health minister after a gap of more than four years in Uttarakhand by selecting Dhan Singh Rawat for the job. Former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat kept the health portfolio with him from the beginning of his term. His successor Tirath Singh Rawat too kept the key portfolio of health with him.
The demand for a full time Health minister gathered momentum after the pandemic of Covid-19 hit the state in March last year. Expressing happiness on the development, health expert Anoop Nautiyal said that the new CM deserves thanks for it. Nautiyal said that he hopes that the new Health minister would work hard on Covid management, improve facilities in mountain districts and strengthen human resources in the state.
