The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that though no case of the Covid-19 has been reported in the State from last one week the people should not drop the guard against the disease. In a statement the minister said on Friday that due to the increased public awareness and activeness of the health department no new case of the disease has been reported in the last one week which has happened for the first time in the last three years. He said that in view of the weather conditions the people should not get complacent. The minister said that orders for maintaining a strict vigil and awareness drive are being given to the officers and it has yielded positive results.

He said that the first case of Covid-19 was reported in the State on March 15, 2020 and after that 44,90,472 cases of the disease have been reported. This year only 78 cases of the disease have so far been reported in the State from January 1. The minister cautioned that though there is no active case of Covid-19 in the State, the people should remain alert and follow the guidelines issued by the Union and State government from time to time. Rawat said that the vaccination drive against Covid-19 undertaken by the State health department is underway and the tests for Covid-19 would continue in all the hospitals of the State. The minister appealed that the people who have not completed the course of their vaccination should get themselves vaccinated soon.
