Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has warned that strict action will be taken on those found involved tampering with Uttarakhand’s faith, devotion and the dignity of the Char Dham Yatra. He requested the residents of the State, devotees and social media users to refrain from sharing any unverified, misleading or questionable content on social media.
The State government officials claimed that some anti-social elements are attempting to mislead the public and tarnish the image of the State by circulating misleading, unverified videos and content on social media platforms regarding the Char Dham Yatra. During social media monitoring, the Rudraprayag district authorities came across a video in which false information was being disseminated regarding devotees being denied Darshan at Kedarnath Dham.
Following this the Rudraprayag police has registered a First Information Report against the individual at Sonprayag police station.
The police have also identified some more videos and are investigating them thoroughly. An official of the State government said that the Char Dham Yatra arrangements are completely smooth. He said that any kind of misleading information, rumour or propaganda will be tackled in a strict manner.
“Social media platforms are being monitored 24×7 and strict legal action will be taken against the culprits,’’ the official added.
