U’khand govt unprepared for Covid emergency- Cong
The state government unconcerned by spurt in Covid cases in Delhi and possible surge in Uttarakhand- Dhasmana.
Criticising the Trivendra Singh Rawat government for being careless and apathetic in dealing with the pandemic of Covid-19, the Uttarakhand Congress has said that the state government has made no preparation to tackle the expected new surge in the numbers of patients. Talking to the media persons at Rajiv Bhawan here on Wednesday, the vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Surya Kant Dhasmana said that there seems no preparation for ‘health emergency’ in the state. Expressing concern on the number of cases of Covid-19 in the state which are again on the rise recently, the Congress leader said that the preparations made by the Uttarakhand government are grossly inadequate. Dhasmana said that due to onset of winters, the number of cases of Covid-19 have witnessed a sharp increase in the national capital Delhi and other states. He said that the patients of the disease are continuing at a steady rate in Uttarakhand but the state government is appearing unconcerned by spurt in Covid cases in Delhi and nearby states. He said that the tally of the patients in the state is approaching 70 thousand mark and more than 1100 patients have so far succumbed to the disease in the state but the state government refuses to come out of its slumber. Dhasmana added that the way the state government has left people to fend for themselves during the pandemic of Covid-19, the people would never forget and forgive the government.
