Senior physician and philanthropist Dr KP Joshi said that the Uttarakhand Lok Virasat will be organised on November 18 and 19 this year. The event is organised to promote folk music, art and local culture. Dr Joshi said that a decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the organising committee of the programme on Saturday. He said that artists from Garhwal and Kumaon region will give their presentation in the two day event. Dr Joshi said that noted singer Narendra Singh Negi, Pritam Bhartwan and others will give their performances in the programme. Artists will also showcase their talent on Dhol and Damau, the traditional instruments. Dr Joshi said stalls of local produce will also be set up in the event. The objective of the programme is also to find new talent and link them with employment. The meeting of the organising committee was attended by singer Narendra Singh Negi, Pritam Bhartwan, Dr Vipul Kandwal, Dr Sushma Joshi, Dr Mukesh Gupta and others.
