In a big relief to the serious patients of the Covid-19 admitted in the hospitals of the state, the Uttarakhand government received 3000 vials of life saving injection Remdesivir on Saturday. A team led by Drug Controller Tajbar Jaggi has even distributed the quota of the injections to different government and private hospitals of Dehradun. Jaggi said that soon the second consignment of the injection would arrive in the state. He said that the relatives of the patients should complain against the hospitals that are refusing the injections and should not promote black-marketing.
The hospitals which have been provided with the injection should submit a complete account of their usage to the drug controller department. The hospitals should provide a copy of the Aadhar Card of the patient, prescription and Covid positive report to the department.
The Remdesivir injection is prescribed by the doctors to reduce the infection in the lungs of serious patients of Covid-19. Based on the infection level in the lungs these injections are administered in the patients and in some cases six injections are required to put into the patients. In view of their significance in treatment of acute Covid-19 these injections are in high demand.
