U’khand receives tax share of Rs 1,304 crore

In a major relief to the State government reeling under paucity of funds, the Union government has released a sum of Rs 1,304.36 crore to Uttarakhand as its share of income tax. The share is as per the provisions of the 15th finance commission.
Expressing happiness on the development the Finance minister of Uttarakhand, Prem Chand Agarwal said that the state government would make proper use of this sum which is quite a large amount of money. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the release of the state’s share. Agarwal said that the Union government has released a sum of Rs 1,16,665.75 crore for the states as tax transfer in two installments.
The State has received a sum of Rs 1,304.36 crore and it would help the state government in its capital expenditures and financial management, he said.
