In his maiden speech in Rajya Sabha, the president of Uttarakhand BJP and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the gift of development to Uttarakhand and in return the people gave all the five Lok Sabha seats to him in the LS elections. Speaking on the vote of thanks on the address of the President of India, Bhatt said that he comes from Uttarakhand which is the land of Baba Badri, Kedar and Ganga and Yamuna. He started his speech by paying tributes to the Statehood activists and the martyrs.
Bhatt said that Uttarakhand resides in the heart of PM Modi and all round development of the State has occurred under his leadership in the last 10 years. He said that under the leadership of PM Modi, the State like Uttarakhand which is geographically inaccessible, backward and a border State got connected with national mainstream.
Bhatt said that every household in Uttarakhand has electricity connection and 55 lakh Ayushman cards have been made in the State.
He said that the All weather road is proving to be a blessing for the State. Bhatt said that Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, ropeway projects and the increase in air connectivity have brought positive change in the State. Bhatt expressed confidence that under the leadership of PM Modi, Uttarakhand will become a developed State of the country.
