U’Khand team to participate in 31st National Junior Fencing Competition in Chhattisgarh today

The Uttarakhand team will participate in the 31st National Junior Fencing Competition in Chhattisgarh on December 31. Giving this information, the district sports officer of Dehradun Nidhi Binjola said that the 31st Junior National Fencing Competition will be organised by the Fencing Association of India in Raipur, Chhattisgarh from December 31 to January 3.
Recently, a fencing competition was held in Rudrapur, Udham Singh Nagar, as part of the process of selecting the Uttarakhand team for the competition. Following the selection and training camp conducted by the District Sports Office in Dehradun, five boys and girls were chosen to represent Uttarakhand in the national fencing competition. The selected participants are Suryansh Gadiya, Aditya Thapliyal, Shaurya Gairola, Apoorva Negi and Saina Bisht, she said.
She further said that the district sports office consistently strives to enhance sportsmanship among the people. Considering this it recently organised the Scheduled Tribe Men’s Open State Level Volleyball Competition which concluded on Saturday.
The championship’s grand finale showcased an exciting match involving players from Vikasnagar, Dehradun and Udham Singh Nagar, resulting in a victory for the Udham Singh Nagar team with a score of 25-20, 25-21 and 26-24, she added.
