U’khand to be hub of film, web series & TV serials: CM

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that Uttarakhand will be developed into a hub for production of feature films, web series and television serials. He said that the State has become a preferred destination for shooting movies.
The CM was interacting with the team of web series Kafal at Balrampur House in Nainital on Monday. The web series is being jointly produced by the Himshree films and the Disney+ Hotstar.
He said that it is a matter of pride for Uttarakhand that the reality of the State is being showcased in the web series while encapsulating all the virtues of the fruit Kafal.
The CM said that the cinema is the mirror of the society which puts forth all the activities of any specific area before the general public. He said that Uttarakhand encompasses natural beauty and cultural, geographical and social harmony of the Himalayas.
He said that the State has recently received the award of most film friendly state. Dhami said that the State government has made an arrangement of online approval for filmmakers. He said that the State government is working in the direction of making its film policy better by going through the policies of other States. He said that the State has approved the proposal to grant 50 per cent subsidy for making of Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari movies and web series to promote local culture and arts.
The CM said that the making of movies in the State will also benefit people associated with the tourism industry. More than 150 local artists are associated in the making of Kafal web series. Noted film personalities Divendu Sharma, Mukti Mohan, Kusha Kapila, Hemant Pandey, Ayushi and others are also working in the web series.
MLAs Sarita Arya, Ram Singh Kaida and others were present on the occasion.
