U’khand to celebrate March 23 as Sewa Diwas to mark 3 yrs of Dhami- II govt

The Uttarakhand government will observe March 23 a ‘ Sewa Diwas’ to mark completion of three years of Pushkar  Singh Dhami government in office. Dhami took charge as the CM of the State for the second consecutive time on March 23, 2022 after the Bharatiya  Janata Party secured a victory in the Vidhan Sabha elections.  The State government will also organise many programmes in different parts of the State from March 22 to 25 to mark the occasion.

The order for organising Sewa Diwas on March 23 was given by the CM Dhami to the officers in a virtual meeting on Wednesday. The CM attended the meeting from New Delhi. 

The CM said that effective initiatives should also be taken for public involvement in these events organised from March 22 to 25 in the State.

He said that on Sewa Diwas, multi-purpose camps should be organized up to the block level in the State. The CM also directed that health camps should be organized on the day in which health equipment should also be made available to the needy people. He said that the public representatives should also be included in these programmes related to public welfare. The CM said that though he is currently in New Delhi, his heart is dedicated to the development of the State. He said that people from every section and region of the society should be included in these programmes. The CM said that the success stories of those who have done commendable work in various fields should be conveyed to the common people. He said that this three-year period, many new records in the development of the State were set up.

 Dhami said that landmark laws like Uniform Civil Code and strict anti-copying act have been implemented, which have given the state a distinct identity at the national level. For the first time, the state budget has crossed Rs 1 lakh crore, he added.

In the meeting the CM directed the officers that efforts should be made at the grassroots level for the revival of canals, wells, rivulets and streams along with the enhancement of the natural water sources of the State. The CM also gave instructions to ensure adequate supply of drinking water throughout the state in view of the upcoming summer season.

Chief secretary Radha Raturi, additional chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, principal secretary Pradeep Pant, PS L Fanai,  R K Sudhanshu, PS R Meenakshi Sundaram, DGP Deepam Seth, secretaries, heads of all departments and  deputy chairperson of State disaster management advisory committee Vinay Rohila and others attended the meeting.
