U’khand to organize conclave of Pravasi Uttarakhandis  on Nov 7

The State government will organise a mega conclave for the natives of Uttarakhand residing in foreign countries. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officers on Saturday at the State secretariat that the conclave should be organised in Dehradun on November 7 on the Pravasi Uttarakhand Diwas. He said that the State government wants to take the cooperation of the migrants of Uttarakhand for the development of the State and to provide them every possible help to connect with their motherland. He said that the Pravasi Uttarakhandis have made a distinct identity for themselves on the basis of their work in the country they reside and the world.

“ We should have regular contact with all the residents of Uttarakhand living in the country and the world. Our endeavour is to be a partner in every happiness and sorrow. The database of all the Pravasi Uttarakhandis living abroad should be kept updated. We should take advantage of their expertise, experience and financial capabilities in the development of the state and to honour those with notable achievements,’’ he said.  

The CM added that the State government has set up a ‘Pravasi Uttarakhand Cell’ for the non resident Uttarakhandis.  He said that the cell is collecting the contact details of migrant organisations and eminent migrants and so far, contact has been established with migrant Uttarakhandis living in 18 countries. 

The CM also launched the website of  Pravasi Uttarakhand Cell www.pravasiuttarakhandi.uk.gov.in  on the occasion.  The ITDA has prepared the website which will provide information about various policies, programs and activities of the State government.

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, secretaries R Meenakshi Sundaram, BVRC Purushottam, Dipendra Chaudhary, SN Pandey, director general (DG) Information Banshidhar Tiwari, director ITDA Nitika Khandelwal, member of the pravasi Uttarakhandis cell Sudhir Chandra Nautiyal and others were present on the occasion.
