U’khand’s first electronic manufacturing cluster to come up in Kashipur

In latest Uttarakhand news, the Centre is going to invest in the setting up of the State’s first electronic manufacturing cluster. As per information received, a contract will be signed soon with the Central government on this matter. The Centre has already approved Rs 56 crore on developing the cluster. It is further learnt from the State government officials that the State’s first electronic manufacturing cluster will come up in Kashipur in Udham Singh Nagar district on 133 acres of land.  

To speed things up, the Uttarakhand Industrial Development Corporation has already firmed up DPR. The cluster will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 115 crore, the corporation officials said, adding that 50 per cent of the sum to be spent on this project will come from the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. For this, the Central government and SIIDCUL will sign a contract the preparation of which is now going on.

After this cluster comes up, the electronic manufacturing industrial units will be provided with all kinds of facilities aside from the land. Plots will be provided to companies for manufacturing electronic goods.  Besides, the facilities will be provided to the manufacturers of electric vehicles and defense, telecommunication and power equipments.  The total number of companies to be provided with plots in this cluster is 60.

Furthermore, hostel, warehouses, lab for testing equipments, fire station and medical facilities will be available inside the cluster for the employees of the industries.
