Ukhimath PHC to be converted into CHC: Kumar

Following the directions of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat, the Health department has decided to upgrade the Ukhimath Primary Health Centre (PHC) into a Community Health Centre (CHC). The Makkumath Health Sub Centre will be converted into a PHC. This information was shared by the Health secretary, in-charge of Rudraprayag district, R Rajesh Kumar during his visit to Rudraprayag.
During his visit, Kumar said that he inspected the Ukhimath PHC, which will now be upgraded to CHC. He also inspected the Makkumath Health Sub-Centre and instructed the medical staff to properly examine and treat the patients. The Health secretary stated that the process of upgrading both the centre is happening rapidly. Despite Makkumath having a lower population according to standards, it is being upgraded to a PHC to ensure that the villagers there receive good health services, he added.
Further, Kumar conducted a field inspection of the development works in the disaster-affected areas in Sonprayag and Sitapur. He directed the officials of Irrigation, Public Works Department other departments to coordinate with each other and carry out development work at a fast pace. The secretary-in-charge informed that on July 1, the Kedarnath bridke path and Gaurikund-Sonprayag highway were damaged due to heavy rains and landslides. He said that the Kedarnath Yatra is gaining momentum and the alternative footpath is completely safe. He directed the officials concerned that this route will be completely repaired in the next month and the work on the right side of the Son river will be completed in the next 15 days.
