Ukrainian held for travelling sans visa

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Bageshwar:  Police arrested a Ukrainian national who was found roaming without valid documents on the Pindari Glacier track in the Kapkot area of ​​ Bageshwar district. He was identified as 36-year-old Maxim Star Chinko, a resident of Novobavarsky, Kharkiv (Ukraine).
Police said that Maxim had come to the area for glacier trekking but lost his way in the forest.

The station house officer, Pratap Singh Nagarkoti said that while attempting to walk from Doula village towards Rishikesh, he had fallen on the mountain path and sustained injuries to his arms, legs and several parts of his body.
The villagers spotted him and informed the police following which a police team arrived and admitted him to the CHC, Kapkot.

During the investigation, police found that he had no valid visa, passport or other travel documents. They detained and then arrested him.
A case was registered against him on Tuesday under Section 3/23 of the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025. Police further said that the accused would be produced in court.
