UKSSC starts recruitment process of 1544 teachers

The Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has started the process of appointment of 1544 teachers (LT) in the education department. The education department had sent requisition to the UKSSSC for filling the vacant posts of LTs in the government schools of the State. The UKSSSC has now invited applications from the eligible candidates for 786 posts in Garhwal division and 758 posts in Kumaon division. The commission will recruit 60 per cent candidates from direct recruitment while 40 per cent posts will be filled from within the department. In the departmental recruitment 10 per cent posts will be for the women candidates. In the general and women branch in the Garhwal division, 118 posts are in Hindi, 104 in English, nine in Sanskrit, 76 in Mathematics, 140 in Science, 124 in General science, 03 in Home Science, 11 in Commerce, 130 in Arts and two in Music. Similarly in Kumaon division 95 posts are in Hindi, 76 in English, 14 in Sanskrit, 102 in Mathematics, 112 in Science, 139 in General Science, 54 in Physical Education, 10 in Home Science, four in Commerce, two in Urdu, six in Music and 144 in Arts subject. The commission has set April 12 as the last date for submitting the online application and the written examination will be held in July this year. For assistant teacher the candidate should possess a graduate degree and B.Ed. Apart from this the candidates should have either cleared the UTET-II or the CTET –II examination.
The education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the State government is dedicated to improving the quality of education and for this the UKSSSC has started the process of recruitment in vacant posts of LTs in the schools of the State. He said that the selected candidates will be deployed in the schools located in hard to access areas so that the education system in mountainous areas is strengthened.
