In latest news from Doon, the State government has further extended the tenure of the Urban Local Body administrators, citing the OBC reservation bill having been sent to the Assembly’s Select Committee. This means that with the tenure of the district magistrates as administrators being extended, the long overdue ULB polls will be delayed further.
Notably, the tenure of the ULB boards expired on December 1, 2023 and following this, the DMs were appointed administrators. With the polls remaining stalled, their tenures were extended by three months on June 2. Now again, the DMs’ tenures as ULB administrators have been extended till the time new ULB boards are constituted.
