The 30th Umesh Dobhal memorial function will be organised on May 14 and 15 in Pauri. This event is being held after a gap of two years as it was suspended during the Covid-19 pandemic. Umesh Dobhal Trust president Govind Pant ‘Rajju’ said that this year Trepan Singh Chauhan will be awarded Umesh Dobhal Smriti Samman posthumously. Anil Swami will be awarded Rajendra Rawat ‘Rajju’ Jan Sarokar Samman and Satish Dhaulkhandi will be felicitated with Girish Tewari ”Girda” Jan Kavi cultural award. Acting president Bimal Negi said that Ganga Asnora Thapliyal will be awarded for her work in the print media, while Baramasa team and Shishpal Singh Gusain will be awarded in the electronic media and social media category respectively. A cultural rally will be held on May 14 in the main market of Pauri in the evening and later in the night a play will be staged. During the main function, senior geologist and environmentalist Naveen Juyal will deliver speech on the subject of development projects and facts of environment while senior journalist Ramesh Pahadi will present his views on the condition and direction of journalism in Uttarakhand.
