Undertake Covid-19 vaccination on mission mode: CM

Directs the administration to focus on the strategy of Test, Track and Treat

In view of the sudden spurt in the number of patients of Covid-19 in many states of the country the Uttarakhand government has come into an alert mode.  For effective control on the disease the chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat has directed the health department to undertake the vaccination programme in a mission mode.

After attending a video conferencing session with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, CM Rawat directed the officials to lay special emphasis on the awareness campaign to combat the disease. He said that the number of vaccination centres should be increased if the need arises. The CM said that the Covid-19 protection protocols such as maintaining physical distancing; wearing of masks and sanitation should be followed. He said that special emphasis on RT-PCR tests should be done and micro containment zones should be set up in the areas with higher number of Covid-19 cases. The CM added that the strategy of Test, Track and Treat should be followed to combat the disease.

The chief secretary Om Prakash, secretary health Amit Singh Negi, medical education director Yugal Kishore Pant and others were present on the occasion.
