The Union minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai said that the Union budget 2024-25 is aimed at making India stronger. It has provisions meant to fulfill the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making India a developed nation by 2047, he said. Rai was addressing the media here on Saturday.
The Union MoS said that the budget presented by the Finance minister has focused on making the four major sections of society stronger and happier. The budget especially focuses on the youths, women, farmers and the poor. “The budget is focused on achieving what Swami Vivekananda had envisioned- there will be no poor, illiterate or homeless person in India. Economists across the world have opined that this budget will make India economically stronger. Two men at the fag end of their lives divided India- one becoming the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the other becoming the Prime Minsiter of India. Narendra Modi, on the other hand, is striving hard to achieve the betterment of the nation and its people by making India a developed nation by 2047,” he said.
Rai said that the budget is an important step towards making India a developed nation by 2047. It focuses on decentralisation. Taking a jibe at those objecting to the budget, he said that the nation has seen such a PM of the Congress who got the nation partitioned just to become the PM of this nation. On the other hand, PM Modi is working considering the next 25 years. This is why the outline for a developed India is clearly visible in his policies and the budget, the minister said.
“Post independence, this is the best budget which considers the interests of all sections of society. The budget focuses on farmers, youths, soldiers, women, the aged, poor and other sections of society. It is also beneficial for Uttarakhand as the provisions made for boosting tourism and effectively tackling natural disasters will especially benefit the State. The grants provided by the Central government in assistance to the State have increased by about 253 per cent compared to what was provided by the Centre during the tenure of the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre from 2009 to 2014,” the Union MoS added.
Earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the Union budget will positively affect all sections of society. He said that PM Modi has special affection for Uttarakhand, which is why separate provisions have been announced for the State. All the other schemes will also benefit Uttarakhand. Rai, Bhatt and other party leaders also held a meeting with the intelligentsia later in the day. Bhatt said that the suggestions received in the meeting will be compiled and shared with the higher authorities.
