Union Budget-2024-25 to fulfill PM Modi’s Viksit Bharat-2047: Dhami

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the Union budget 2024-25 will give new impetus to the development of the country and will fulfill the Viksit Bharat -2047 vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  Interacting with the media persons at the State secretariat on Tuesday, the CM  said that the budget will fulfil the aspirations of the people of India and will give new direction and momentum to the country. He added that the budget tabled by the Union Finance minister is historic, visionary and inclusive. The CM expressed gratitude to PM Modi and FM for announcing a special package for dealing with natural disasters. He said that the package will help the State to maintain the pace of development.

Dhami said that the Union government has included nine priorities for developed India in the budget which will prove effective for overall development of the country. He also expressed his gratitude to the union government for starting the fourth phase of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana ( PMGSY ) under which better connectivity to 25,000 villages. The CM said that the PMGSY phase IV will strengthen  rural connectivity in Uttarakhand. 

Welcoming the decision to increase standard deduction from existing Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000, the CM said that it will provide relief to government employees and pensioners.

 The CM  said that a decision to construct 12 new industrial parks in the country has been taken. He said that the investment agreements worth Rs 3.5 lakh crores were inked in the Global Investment Summit held in Uttarakhand last year and the State is expected to get benefit from these industrial parks.

The CM averred union budget is focused on the poor, women, youth and farmers and providing employment, inculcating skills, MSME and middle class have been specially included in the budget theme.

He added that the use of solar energy has been encouraged in the union budget with the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. Dhami said that a provision has been made to give loans up to Rs 10 lakh to the students for higher education in domestic institutions. He added that the Union government has also announced a minimum support price for the farmers on main crops.
