The Bharatiya Janata Party has stated that the Union budget 2025 will ensure the welfare of the common man while also benefitting Uttarakhand in various spheres. The BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that the tax relief provided to about 80 per cent of the salaried middle class along with the priority accorded to the tourism and agriculture sector will prove important in facilitating Uttarakhand’s development.
He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman for what he termed an inclusive and all encompassing budget. “Based on the mantra of development and heritage, this budget will lend pace to the development of Viksit Bharat. When it comes to Uttarakhand, the proportion of the middle class in the population is considerable. Considering this, the tax relief provided to those with an average monthly income of Rs one lakh will enable them to make annual savings of upto Rs 80,000.
The farmers of Uttarakhand will also benefit due to the priority accorded to agriculture in the budget. About 1.7 crore farmers will benefit from the PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana with plans to improve the sectoral structure in 100 districts. Further, raising the limit of MSME loan with guarantee from Rs five crore to Rs 10 crore will prove beneficial for a young industrial State like Uttarakhand. The provision of UPI linked credit card along with Rs 30,000 limit PM Svanidhi will enhance employment opportunities in a State like Uttarakhand,” Bhatt said.
The BJP State president expressed hope that the budgetary provision under Urban Challenge will enable further development of cities in the State. Destinations in the State will also be included in the amended UDAN scheme under which air connectivity to new destinations across the nations is to be enhanced. The Gyan Bharat mission for the survey and conservation of manuscripts will also prove important for Uttarakhand.
Further, the government has also focused on tourism as part of its Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign. The government will focus on developing tourist hubs along with hotels and infrastructural development. Home stays are also being linked with MUDRA loan. Considering the importance of tourism in Uttarakhand, the provisions in the Union budget-2025 will boost the efforts being undertaken in the State, Bhatt added.
