Kumaun Garhwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI) president Ashok Bansal lauded the Union budget presented by the Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitaram as a growth-boosting and balanced one with special focus on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and startups. He also hailed the welfare announcements involving education and health sectors and the tax exemption for the middle class tax payers. Women have also a lot to benefit from the budget announcement, he added. He particularly mentioned the expansion of the guarantee loan limit for small scale industries and credit facilities for the MSMEs, reduction of TCS rates on transaction, proposals to boost women entrepreneurship, creation of additional 75,000 beds in the medical colleges across the country and increasing seats in the IITs aside from substantially expanding the income tax exemption limit benefiting the middle classes.
