Union MoEF&CC minister to release India State of Forest Report at FRI today

The nation will get to know the latest known status of the forests in India today with the Union minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav slated to release the India State of Forest Report (ISFR) 2023 in presence of the Union minister of State Kirti Vardhan Singh and others at the Forest Research Institute here on Saturday.

According to officials, the event will be attended by the senior officers of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) and associated institutions including the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, Forest Survey of India, Wildlife Institute of India, Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy and others.

The India State of Forest Report has been brought out by Forest Survey of India (FSI) on a biennial basis since 1987. The report provides vital information on forest and tree resources of the country, based on two major activities – Forest Cover Mapping (FCM) and National Forest Inventory (NFI) of the FSI.  FSI has been publishing the report since 1987 and this report will be 18th such report in the series.
