The University of Patanjali organised a programme to commemorate the birth anniversary of Guru Govind Singh under the aegis of Guru Govind Singh Chair on Tuesday. Addressing it, the vice- chancellor of the university, Acharya Balkrishna said that the Guru personified courage and sacrifice on the altar of Truth, adding that his scholarship, especially his deep understanding of Sanskrit and theology, enriched India’s Sanatan culture and spiritual heritage. He also said that Guru Govind Singh would stress on coordination among education, tradition and religion.
Associate Professor, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, Harpreet Singh said that the philosophy of Guru Gobind Singh is too great for him to describe. “He embodied dedication to the service of Truth,” he said.
Among others present included the professor, Agronomy, Punjab Agricultural University, Kulveer Singh Saini and the head of the Faculty of Humanities and Oriental Studies, Prof Sadhvi Devpriya.
