In addition to the historic development works undertaken in the Kichha area of Udham Singh Nagar, the construction of AIIMS satellite centre, smart industrial park and a high tech bus depot will prove to be a milestone. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said this while addressing the public at an event held on Sunday to greet him for the development works approved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the area on the CM’s request. Dhami announced various development works in the Kiccha Vidhan Sabha constituency on the occasion.
The CM said that only 12 smart industrial parks were to be constructed across the nation and thanked PM Modi for approving one for Kichha. An international-level airport is being built not far in Pantnagar, which will pave the way for unprecedented development in this region. An area of 850 acres has been transferred for the expansion of the Pantnagar airport which is expected to start functioning in the near future, he said.
The Jamrani dam project which was pending for about five decades has also received approval. The construction of this project will prove to be a milestone for drinking water and irrigation in addition to recharging the dropping groundwater level. The Central government has provided the HMT land to the State government. Now this land can also be used for other purposes, Dhami said. He averred that Uttarakhand is being developed as a model State. “We are committed to ensuring that the development reaches even the people living in the remotest areas of the State. More than 17,000 youth have been appointed to various government jobs during the past three years in the State as part of such efforts. The government is focusing on strengthening connectivity, education, health and tourism infrastructure. Employment generation and economic development is being facilitated through developments in the industries, tourism and agriculture sectors,”he added.
