Unseasonal rain continues, more likely in three districts today

The spell of unseasonal rain is likely to continue for a few more days in some parts of the State. The provisional State capital Dehradun witnessed spells of rain with light rain in the evening continuing till the night on Saturday. Similar weather was experienced in other parts of the State with snowfall also being reported from high altitude areas. The State meteorological centre has forecast that very light to light rain/thunderstorms/snowfall are likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts on Sunday. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in remaining districts of Uttarakhand.
Dehradun is forecast to witness mainly clear to partly cloudy skies with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 28 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius respectively on Sunday. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 25.6 degrees Celsius and 13 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 27 degrees Celsius and 13.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 9.1 degrees Celsius and 2.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 14 degrees Celsius and 5.9 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. With light to moderate rain being reported in various parts, there was 17 millimetre in Yamkeshwar, 13 millimetre in Satpuli, 11.5 millimetre in Lakhamandal, 11 millimetre in Ranichauri and eight millimetre in Auli.
