Karnataka results are verdict of people, party will work harder: Bhatt
The victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the local body elections in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh has given the party some reason to celebrate amidst the defeat in the Karnataka Assembly elections. The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the victory of the party in Uttar Pradesh will be repeated in the local body elections in Uttarakhand. Accepting the results of the Karnataka Assembly elections as the verdict of the people, he spoke of the party working harder in the future.
Bhatt said that the manner in which the BJP registered a one-sided victory in all the 17 municipal corporations in Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of its chief minister Yogi Adityanath has considerably boosted the morale of the party workers in Uttarakhand. He expressed confidence that the victory achieved in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh will contribute to further increasing the party’s victory margin in the coming local body elections in Uttarakhand. He opined that the party’s victory in the Uttar Pradesh local body elections means that in Uttarakhand, all the party’s mayoral candidates and councillors are also going to win by record votes on most seats in the municipal corporations and other local bodies. Humbly accepting the party’s defeat in the Karnataka Assembly elections, Bhatt said that the party fought in a good manner but the electoral result was not in its favour. Considering this, the party needs to work harder, he said.
