UP tourists rescued by authorities from Khaliya Top

The district authorities in Pithoragarh have rescued two tourists who had gone missing at Khaliya Top in Munsyari area. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had also directed the Pithoragarh district magistrate regarding the search for the missing tourists.
According to sources, on May 16, two men from Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh, Santosh Kumar aged about 27 years and Vishal Gangwar aged about 25 years had gone from Munsyari to the tourist spot of Khaliya Top. However, they lost their way and were lost en route. The authorities began searching for the two who were found in an injured condition on Tuesday. The chief minister had also directed the Pithoragarh district magistrate Ashish Chauhan to ensure swift rescue of the missing tourists. After their rescue, the chief minister also directed that necessary medical treatment be provided to the injured duo. Chauhan informed that a helicopter had also been arranged to send the injured tourists to a higher centre for treatment. However, bad weather prevented them from being transported in the helicopter. The duo was taken to the higher centre by ambulance.
