Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has made a record in digitalizing the electricity consumers. The UPCL officials said that as compared to 2022’s 71 percent digitalized consumers, the figure has this year gone up to 76 percent. A senior UPCL officer said that in the current financial year, the target is to take the figure to 100 percent. At the same time, UPCL’s collection of revenue from the electricity bill payments has touched a record. In the financial year 2022-23, revenue worth Rs 8785 crore was collected. The figure is higher by Rs 1100 crore than in the previous financial year. The UPCL officials ascribed the rise in the collection of revenue to positive steps taken by the corporation.
