The Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has established a special control room to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during Deepawali. The UPCL managing director Anil Kumar Yadav issued essential directives to prevent any disruption in electricity supply that could affect the celebration.
He informed that from October 29 to 31, all regional officers and employees have been instructed to remain alert and ensure a steady power supply across the State. He said that all necessary arrangements have been completed in advance with a special control room set up at the headquarters for real-time monitoring. He informed that executive engineer Mayur Dev has been appointed as the nodal officer for the control room. Dev will ensure that all electricity-related complaints received during peak hours are addressed on time.
The MD said that consumers can dial 1912 during the festival season to report power supply issues or seek any assistance. Besides this, He also issued orders to all regional teams to work on a high alert mode during Deepawali. He instructed the officials concerned to monitor substations, transformers and insulators daily to prevent overloading or other disruptions. The sub-divisional officers and junior engineers have also been directed to be on standby within their respective areas, only leaving the site in cases of absolute necessity, Yadav said.
