To ensure that no consumer faces power outage during Deepawali festivities, the Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has taken a slew of steps. Informing this on Wednesday, the managing director UPCL Anil Kumar Yadav said that all the regional officers have been directed to be present in their respective offices and ensure uninterrupted power supply. “To facilitate communication, a WhatsApp group has been installed and officers are required to provide real-time updates on the power supply status through it,” he said.
Apart from this, all officers have been assigned duties during the Deepawali festival to guarantee prompt restoration of power in any unforeseen circumstances, he said. “The availability of all trolley converters has been checked to ensure that they are operational for emergencies. Besides, a special control room has been set up for Deepawali with a team working round the clock on a rotational basis to address consumer issues. Consumers can obtain information about the power supply by calling 1912. Further, regional officers have been directed to keep maintenance teams on high alert to ensure swift action be taken in the event of a power outage,” he said.
