UPCL restores power supply of Kedarnah Dham

The Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) restored the power supply of Kedarnath Dham on Thursday afternoon. The power supply to the shrine was disrupted due to heavy rains in the area on Wednesday due to which four poles of 11 KV feeder of 33/11 kV Sonprayag substation were washed away.
The power supply of Gaurikund, Rampur and Triyuginarayan were also disrupted.“ The UPCL personnel started patrolling the lines from 4 am on Thursday to restore the power supply to Kedarnath Dham. The 11 KV feeder which originates from 33/11 KV Guptkashi was connected to the Kedarnath feeder near Sonprayag. It restored the power supply to Kedarnath Dham at 2.15 pm on Thursday,’’ said a communiqué from UPCL.
The UPCL claimed that the power supply to areas like Junglechatti, Bhimbali, Rambada, and Chhoti Linchauli will also be restored soon. The Managing Director and Director (operations) of UPCL are monitoring the work, repair and reconstruction of damaged power lines.
