UPES organises training of IFS officers
The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) here organised an online training programme for the senior officers of Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officers recently. The training programme titled “Environmental Law, Policy and Governance in India: National and International Perspectives” was conducted by the ‘School of Law’ (SOL) of UPES and organized with support of the union ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
Addressing the participants on the inaugural day, the Director Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA), Bharat Jyoti said “The tribal needs must be kept in the forefront while starting any new project in a tribal area as they are dependent on forests for their sustenance or else their displacement under development projects may lead to a loss of their culture”. The Dean SOL, V K Singh informed that it is compulsory for members of All India Services to attend a week long training program for upgradation of their knowledge and skills.
