UPHC raises awareness about adolescent health

In order to promote better health, the Dehradun Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) organised a programme on Adolescent Health Day on Thursday. The programme aimed to raise awareness and provide counselling services to promote nutrition among adolescents, educate about sexual reproduction and maternal health, address violent behaviour, prevent drug addiction and tackle non-communicable diseases. Counsellors under the adolescent health programme offered services to adolescents aged 10 to 19 years. The event was attended by 40 students of class VII . Apart from this, during the programme the plan of establishing peer groups was initiated in the urban area of Dehradun. Additionally, 42 more Adolescent Health Day programmes are scheduled to be organised in the urban area.
