The chairperson of the Uttarakhand State Commission for Women (USCW) Kusum Kandwal hailed the State government for gifting Uttarakhand its first woman chief secretary. “Paying up lip service to women empowerment is one thing and taking things to execution on the ground is another. The Uttarakhand government has opted for the latter,” she said.
She also congratulated the newly appointed chief secretary Radha Raturi and expressed the hope that she would set up new benchmarks for administrative efficiency and take the women along.
“This inspirational move will go a long way in driving the girls of the State to go for the high administrative posts. The women of the State have always remained at the vanguard of every positive movement and now this accomplishment will give further impetus to the women empowerment movement,” Kandwal said.
