The Uttarakhand State Commission for Women (USCW) honoured 13 women here on Tuesday in recognition of their achievements in various fields. The women were honoured in the Sashakt Nari Samman programme conducted by USCW.
Attending the event virtually, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasised the importance of inclusion in achieving gender equality. He acknowledged the vital role of diversity and empowerment in all aspects of society. The programme was dedicated to 13 women who have set an example in different fields and paved the way for progress and equality in society, creating a distinct identity for themselves.
In addition to addressing cases of domestic violence the chairperson of USCW Kusum Kandwal stated that the commission also conducts programmes to promote and raise awareness about women’s rights. The commission also recognises accomplished women in various fields, she said.
