USERC starts 5-day training on Bioinformatics

Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Centre (USERC) in collaboration with Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University started a five-day ‘Hands on Training on Bioinformatics for Genomic Analysis 2.0’ for students on Monday.
Addressing the gathering, USERC director, Prof Anita Rawat said that USERC had earlier set up Uttarakhand’s first USERC Centre of Excellence in Bioinformatics at Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University campus. “Bioinformatics is not only the future of life sciences and biotechnology but can also bring revolutionary changes in the field of medical research, drug development and personalised genomics medicine,” she said, adding that USREC would continue to organise such training programmes.
A total of 25 students from various universities and higher education institutions, including Sridev Suman Uttarakhand University; Government College, Doiwala and Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University, are receiving training.
Among those present was the vice- chancellor of Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University Preeti Kothiyal.
