The Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC) will soon start operation of 12 air conditioned (AC) buses from Dehradun to New Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow and Gurugram considering the summer season. According to the divisional manager of UTC in Dehradun, Sanjay Gupta, the demand for AC buses on these routes increases during summer every year. He said that 37 Volvo buses that operate from ISBT in Dehradun are going under maintenance in order to be operated as per the requirement in the said routes. He said that 24 air conditioned buses are being operated presently between Dehradun and New Delhi and their numbers will be increased considering the hot weather. He said that 12 AC buses will also be operated from ISBT besides 37 Volvo buses. The company operating Volvo buses from here have been instructed to keep all the buses in good condition to ensure buses are available for passengers.
