Uttarakhand Premier League to start from June 22

In Dehradun latest news, the Uttarakhand Premier League (UPL) being organised by the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU) is starting in Dehradun on June 22. Six teams will play 18 matches in the first edition of the tournament. Following the pattern set by IPL, six matches will be played in day and the rest six will be played in night. Six teams from across the state are going to participate in the T-20 matches to be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun. Talking to the mediapersons on the upcoming UPL, CAU spokesperson Vijay Pratap Malla said that this will be the maiden professional league after CAU had been given recognition. “Each team will comprise 18 players. The CAU- appointed committee has selected the teams” he said. He sounded confident that Akash Madhwal, Rajan Kumar and Aditya Tare who have displayed their inherent mettle in IPL will also show the same in UPL. The matches will be played from 3:30 pm and from 7:30 pm.
