Uttarakhand set to have new DGP in Nov

In latest news from Dehradun, Uttarakhand is all set to have a new director general of police in November. It is learnt that the State police directorate will soon send a panel of three names of senior IPS cadre officers to the administration and the administration will send the panel to Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UPSC) to take the final call in consultation with the senior administration and police officers. The State police brass, privy to the developments, said that the State might have its 12th DGP in November. Notably, the incumbent DGP Ashok Kumar is retiring in November and in view of this, the process of selecting a new DGP has gained traction recently. The three IPS officers who figure in the panel are Deepam Seth, P V K Prasad and Abhinav Kumar. While the additional director general (ADG) Deepam Seth has been working in the State presently on deputation the other two have been serving the State police for years.
