Uttarakhand tableau wins third position in R-Day
Out of the tableaux of various States which participated in the Republic Day parade at Rajpath in New Delhi, the Uttarakhand tableau- Kedarkhand was won the third position. Union minister of State for youth affairs and sports Kiren Rijiju presented the award at the Rashtriya Rangshala camp in New Delhi to Uttarakhand representative and team leader KS Chauhan. It should be mentioned here that though Uttarakhand has participated several times in the Republic Day parade at Rajpath since the creation of the state, this is the first time when the state’s tableau has won an award.
Governor Baby Rani Maurya and chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat expressed happiness at this achievement. Rawat said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after the 2013 disaster Kedarnath reconstruction has been undertaken to give it a grander form than in the past. Congratulating the people of the state, the CM also congratulated the state’s information secretary Dilip Jawalkar, Director General Meharban Singh Bisht, deputy director and team leader KS Chauhan along with all those who prepared the tableau and performed as part of it.
The front portion of the tableau displayed the state animal musk deer, state bird monal pheasant and state flower Brahmakamal whereas behind these a model of the Kedarnath temple compound was displayed along with devotees. Behind the temple, the Divya Shila- the large boulder which protected the shrine during the 2013 disaster, was also exhibited as part of the tableau.
