Patanjali’s Acharya Balkrishna said that Uttarakhand will emerge as a model for the nation in the future. He said this at the conclusion of an event organised by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) at the Patanjali Research Foundation auditorium on Saturday.
Balkrishna said that NABARD is the nation’s most important institution for the development of rural enterprises. The various schemes of the bank are aimed at ensuring the welfare of farmers through focusing on aspects ranging from farming to animal husbandry. These schemes are aimed at increasing capital investment, ensuring a steady income and boosting employment opportunities. In addition to this, NABARD has also made important contributions to boost innovations in rural areas, social change and the establishment of rural enterprises, he said.
Speaking about Patanjali’s plans, he said that in the agriculture sector, its work plans include efforts to increase the income of farmers, encouraging organic farming and adoption of natural farming.
In addition to this, the cultivation of herbs will also be encouraged to stop migration from Uttarakhand. “By focusing on direct purchase of honey and agriculture products, Patanjali is also attempting to double the income of farmers. As this is the digital era, we have also linked farmers digitally to ensure transparency in loan through B-banking. The farmers are also getting proper price for their produce through Patanjali,” Balkrishna said.
NABARD representatives also visited Patanjali Foods, Patanjali herbal garden and research centre on the occasion.
