PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE /Dehradun

The Uttarakhand government has announced that ration card holders will receive free food grains for three months at once under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. People with Antyodaya and priority ration cards will get their ration for April, May, and June in April itself.

Officials said that the system has been made online through e-POS machines to ensure smooth distribution. However, beneficiaries will have to complete biometric verification three times to receive ration for all three months. The government has also given relief to those who could not collect their ration in March 2026.

They can now get it till April 15. Authorities have appealed to all eligible people to collect their ration from their nearest fair price shop. Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs secretary Anand Swaroop said that this step will make the process easier and help people get their ration without repeated visits.
