State to bear about Rs 400 crore expense of vaccinated estimated 50 lakh beneficiaries
Chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat announced that the state government will facilitate free vaccination of those in the 18-45 years age group from the first week of May in the state. Addressing the media virtually here on Friday, the CM said that the State government will bear the expense of administering vaccines to people in the said age group.
About 50 lakh such intended beneficiaries will be vaccinated in Uttarakhand and the expected cost of vaccinating them is about Rs 400 crore, which will be borne by the state government, said Rawat. The CM further said that the 345 newly appointed doctors have been posted in various places including community health centres so that the services of doctors are made available during the pandemic in centres other than district hospitals too.
Rawat reiterated that black marketing of medicines will not be tolerated, adding that strictest action will be taken against those found guilty of this crime.
