Uttarakhand Virtual Bazaar to organise Women Motor Rally
Uttarakhand Virtual Bazaar will organise a motor rally for women on the occasion of International Women’s Day this Sunday. This rally is being organised by the admins of this virtual group Richa Karnwal and Jyoti Dovak.
The group was founded last year during the lockdown and has over 16,000 active members. According to Karnwal, it would be a 22 kilometres motor rally that would start from Mahindra Ground in Garhi cantonment and end at a resort in Sahastradhara. All the participants will have to go through five points where they will be given some tokens which they will have to submit at the finishing point.
It is being done to ensure that participants do not take any short cuts to reach the finishing point, said Karnwal. She said that this rally is being done to break the stereotype that women cannot drive and provide them a day filled with fun activities. According to her, women with cars as well as two-wheelers can participate in the rally but they all should have valid documents required for driving. Moreover, Pooja Dwivedi who is involved in the Indira Amma Canteen and is also a member of this virtual group, stated that the participants will also get Pahadi dishes made by women of the Indira Amma Canteen after the rally.
